I'm editing some pictures I took with a Nikon D600 and 28-300mm lens. LR does not recognize the lens, nor does it give me a choice to select it. Any ideas?

5.2. When I select Nikon as the lens, it selects the 14-24mm. It offers other wide angles lenses, 18-200mm, and 70-200mm.

Adobe says the 28-300 f/3.5-5.6 ED VR was added in LR3.3 and ACR 6.3

Try looking directly at the exif and see what lens it reports.

Create a new lens profile from scratch:

It knows I used the 28-300mm, but it doesn't give me that choice under Lens Correction.

I've noticed that if it recognizes your lens you have a whole list to choose from which isn't really necessary. If it doesn't recognize it the list is very short. It's backwards.

Sounds like it's time to report a bug to Adobe.

Done, I think. I clicked on "Report a Bug," and that brought me to what seemed like a forum, with people posting questions and answers.

The 28-300 f/3.5-5.6 ED VR is listed in my LR 5.2

As it IS listed in Jerry's (see the screencap).
LR just won't let him select it as a lens correction.

Why report a bug? There are a lot of lenses that Adobe didn't make profiles for. I have a Canon 500mm F/4 lens and they have not included it in LR3-LR5.

Did you see this post Jerry?

They do support the 28-300. It's in their list of supported lenses. I tried it with my LR4, and that lens doesn't come up in Corrections, either.

I have a similar problem when I shoot JPEG, but not when I shoot RAW.
