strange behavior for a jumper

i must be scarey! when i aimed my camera at this guy it just flipped on its back and played dead (i guess) after a few shots i got a piece of dry grass and flipped it over and it walked away stopping just long enough for me to take a couple shots right side up

Good shots and a very animated jumper. Brought a smile to my face as I envision it hamming it up for the camera. Between photo 3 and 4 I can hear the *boing* as it pops upright.

I was shooting baby jumpers, had a captive that laid a sling while I had it. Didn't do very good with shooting the babies but I did notice that when I tried to get them in position with a paint brush they would often roll over and play dead. At first I thought I had killed it on accident, but after a few minutes they would flip and run. Not sure what species the jumper was, coloration on the mother was predominately black with some white banding on the abdomen. Babies where newborn so they were pretty much lacking in any color at all.
