Not a beat-up beak, covered with dirt and peanut butter/ cheeze crackers. Came right along car, shot with a 70-200 lens @ 200 mm. resting on car window, lucky.

I always took an umbrella with me in case the birds went into a hovering mode.

Birdy birdy in the sky, drop some white stuff in my eye, I won't yell and I won't cry, I'm just glad that cows don't fly.

Of course my Dad taught me that one.

Excellent shots. The bird in #1 must have pecked at a petrified worm.

the white feathers on its head and neck are so very fine... now i know why i can't seem to get any "details" of those feathers ... guess i need to snap with a series of exposures, series of ISOs down to minimum of camera and zoom in to max optical ... and hope and pray the bird will "model" for me ??? i just got a canon sx50hs and learning how to snap birds
thanks for the high quality snaps

Right! They wouldn't want to show up at a hospital with dirty beaks.

#1:
My rare bird - at least for these parts. I did not have time to set up a tripod so this is a bit blurry but none the less, one of my rare shots.
