I may have gotten sea sick. they go very fast. 5 knots is all I can handle.
My friend has a bell and when the tide is high and the boats fly pass more then 5 knots we ring the bell to slow them down.
The speed makes a large wake and it pushes into the bulkhead and causes weakness. Thank goodness she put in a new bulkhead before storm sandy or she would have lost the house in the creek.
Glad you enjoyed

OMG no!
she was very smart in doing so.
We had the same issues on the island.
They would open the boats wide open as soon as they got 30 ft from the piers.. They had not even passed the NO wake zone signs before doing so.

I think it would be fun to just open the boat up and let her rip. but we have open waters for that but these people get anxious to get there, faster.

Let them hit a submerged object once and that slows them down fast.
We had a rich lawyer that had his 2 kids on the boat with him. The boat was over 55 ft long, brand spanking new. He was in a big hurry to beat the passenger ferry out of the harbor which opens into lake Michigan and Green Bay waters. So he decided he was going to cut across the bow of the departing boat. He did and kept going until he hit all of the rocks and there the boat laid taking on water.
May day May day was his call.
They took a while getting to him but he was not in harms way since he was in shallow water and stuck on a rock bed.Apparently he was a real SOB and they made him wait all the longer.
The islanders got a good laugh from that one and it laid in the marina for at least 6 months before they started on it.
There was a little to do about his insurance and if they were going to pay.
