Today I picked up Freckles ashes, they were in a very nice wooden box with a carved top and a brass name plate (came with the cost of the creamation).
Looked at Urns and priced them and a nice pewter one was selected (Mom is 84 and I take care of her for the last 15 yrs ( last 8 yrs have been live in caretaker and she had gotten very attached to Frecks ) so she insisted on getting her a Urn today and said she would pay for it, as sissy Missy has a marble sized lump on a nipple and its to be romoved Wed. so the vet bill Sat. and the bill for Wed would make me have to wait about 2 wks to get the Urn.
Thanks Mom, Love you.
Will post some photos of box and Urn later.

Your mom is very sweet to do that for you. The cat you see as my avatar, Max, is in a ceramic cat that I keep in my desk (it has a fold down writing area) where it won't get knocked over by the other felines in the house. This way he's safe and close when I'm on the computer.

All my furry and feathered children and I will put Missy in our prayers for her surgery. I will have my Missy (kitty) send out extra special ones.

I know you are hurting but as long as you remember Freckles she will always stay close in your heart.

It's ironic and a little bit heartbreaking. I am posting (below) a screen shot from the first post of this thread. Please note the advertisement (obviously targeted) above the post. Sad!

Look at the one under it, too. Everybody is out to make a buck.

Good grief! I didn't notice that. I just retook the screen shot to include both, just in case some decides that type of advertising is appropriate and alters the advertisements. With luvmypets' permission, i will send a copy to anyone who PM's me his/her private e-mail. Here is the shot with both ads:

I think you want dooragdragons permission not mine. And what's really funny is that's not the ad that was on my screen. The one I saw was for pet cremation.

Right. I will need dooragdragons' permission to distribute the screen shot. Thanks for the correction.

As an addition to your thread re: adverts...The one above my 'Quick Reply' is for a Free speed -up for your computer.
Free-PC-Cleaner.sparktrust.com. It is NOT FREE...The scan is free. You have to pay for the scan results to be acted upon. So the FREE part does NOT make your PC really fast again.

It is nice to have a reminder of a beloved pet. We buried our Springer Spaniel of 15 years in my garden. I love my garden, and spend lots of time there, so now when I go to weed it, I know that Bandit is under the asparagus. I think of his lively spirit, and how much he loved to run with me in the woods. Even a couple of months before he got so ill, that he couldn't get up, he would manage to go out with me, even though he didn't run circles around me any more at the end. It seemed fitting that he would be buried outdoors, in a beautiful green place. I am happy for you that you have found a place for your pet that will remind you of the happy times you had together.

For your Mom...

"I’m Still Here"

Friend, please don't mourn for me,

I'm still here, though you don't see.

I'm right by your side each night and day,

And within your heart I long to stay.

My body is gone but I'm always near,

I'm everything you feel, see or hear.

My spirit is free, but I'll never depart,

As long as you keep me alive in your heart.

I'll never wander out of your sight.

I'm the brightest star on a summer night.

I'll never be beyond your reach.

I'm the warm moist sand when you're at the beach.

I'm the colorful leaves when fall comes around,

And the pure white snow that blankets the ground.

I'm the beautiful flowers of which you're so fond,

The clear cool water in a quiet pond.

I'm the first bright blossom you'll see in the spring,

The first warm raindrop that April will bring.

I'm the first ray of light when the sun starts to shine,

And you'll see that the face in the moon is mine.

When you start thinking there's no one to love you,

You can talk to me through the Lord above you.

I'll whisper my answer through the leaves on the trees,

And you'll feel my presence in the soft summer breeze.

I'm the hot salty tears that flow when you weep,

And the beautiful dreams that come while you sleep.

I'm the smile you see on a baby's face.

Just look for me, friend, I'm everyplace ...
