Neither of the Obama's are lawyers: they both had to relinquish their bar cards and agree never to practice law again in order to avoid criminal prosecution; thus, only Lincoln is a tall skinny lawyer.

I don't see too much wrong with bashing, we all had fun bashing Bush, too. But we really need to spend some time in constructive thought as to what we need to do, as a country, and how to go about doing it. Many aspect of our "national life" are declining, and in danger of fragmenting.
Let's all get together and come up with some positive ideas to make things better. We don't need Republicans, we don't need Democrats. We don't need liberals, we don't need conservatives. We need American patriots...That's US!!

1stJedi.....Lincoln is NOT a tall skinny lawyer. Although he is now the skinniest he's ever been, he is not as tall as he once was and no longer can practice law because he hasn't renewed his license since 1880.

It's a nice sentiment to come up with constructive ideas to solve the problems.

But, if you look at history, there have been plenty of constructive ideas that would have solved the problems.

But, they never get put in place.

If the problems of the world were resolved, there would be no problems for politicians to campaign on to "solve".

Unlike a corporate manager whose job it is to solve problems and move on, politicians, ALL POLITICIANS, have the main job of getting re-elected.

Any legislation they design is for THEIR benefit, first. It's for the benefit of their "sponsors" and supporters, next. Any benefit the average citizens receive from that legislation is PURELY BY COINCIDENCE.

As for the comment by Mike D. this is the EVERYTHING NON-PHOTOGRAPHIC portion of Ugly Hedgehog. As such, it's a place where people of similar interests can discuss matters OTHER THAN PHOTOGRAPHY.
