Isn't this a pretty picture? A beautiful sloping fairway approaching a nice flat green. What is that rough patch in front of the green? Oh, that's a working cranberry bog, environmentally protected.
Your second shot will put you about 150 yards away from this nice red flag. Maybe an easy 8 iron, right? But don't put your ball in that pretty little bog because you can't go in to get it.
I currently hold the course record for this hole. Eight balls into that evil hell hole they call a bog for a total of 12 on the hole. My group actually has a side bet for how many balls I'll put in the bog every time we play.
The Bog From Hell
At least in your water hazard you don't have alligators. There is no sign saying you can't go after your ball either.

Good point. Must help to keep the tourist population down.
Don't know what to tell you John. Would it help if you aimed for the patch?????

Hi Pierre,
I'm thinking of just throwing a dozen balls in the bog every week and just skipping that hole.

As a golfer I sympathise. How about a longish pole with a scoop on the end?

Not a bad idea. This foolish hole is driving me crazy.
Thanks for the chuckle at breakfast!

Glad I made you smile, Linda.
Sooner or later you must eventually get it filled with balls and there will no longer be a hazard there to interfere with your game!!

Singing Swan, you are right. I didn't think of that.

Thank you. I had just finished my weekly round of golf and decided to take a quick shot of my nemesis - the 15th hole. Photography is fun - golf is torture.
