My sentiments too...our wedding in 1962 was very inexpensive and nicely done. Our daughter on the other hand married a fella whose family were originally from Hawaii and lots of close relatives still live in Hawaii. Now we're from Utah and guess where they got married with over 200 guests and family. It was truly a marvelous all day and evening event but I could only afford it once in my life. Both lunch and dinner (at a five star resort) were provided to all attendees. Not complaining, just saying...destination weddings are expensive!

Mugwhump, thanks for sharing. Usually not too emotional, but had a touch of emotion for this girl (bride). The guy(groom) is a stud, and had a little money to spend for a great start. Totally excellent.

Love, and continued courting keep couples together. Like some of you have stated, a big event is not always appropriate, or needed. For others, and for this girl, this seemed to be the #A1 right way to do it.

I thought it was great and I don't think he had to pay for it!
