@ rocco & snowbear thanks, really learning a lot of things from this PF everyday.
Welcome Maximus1129, I recently purchased a Canon T3i and eventually puchased the Canon battery grip after reading numerous reviews from others that purchased from Amazon. Due to the reviews on the chinese made, I went with the Canon, and have no regrets. It should come with a battery carrier for two Canon batteries and on for six AA batteries. If the Canon batteries run out of juice, you can always find AA batteries. Also, where are you deployed? I am currently in Bagram.
When I bought my 5D from Adorama, I purchased a "bundle" which included an off brand battery grip; it looks like a Canon, but while shooting a wedding, the screw that holds the grip to the camera kept coming loose. Never had a problem like this with my Canon grip.
I have purchased knock off Canon extras and they, all of them, have always had a problem. Then I go out and buy original Canon equipment which always works 100% So now I paid 150% (maybe) of the original Canon cost. Batteries are especially bad. They are not recognized by my Canon 7D when checking "remaining power" They were cheap - but were they? Now all I have is Canon batteries. That's why Canon stuff costs more they have much higher quality requirements. Same thing happened with flash extending cords - didin't work yet looked identical. The Chinese company said they would fix it but I had to pay return shipping to China and then back to me. Not worth it. Stick to original camera manufacturer parts for any good name brand expensive camera.

Maximus,
First off thank you for your service, know what that is like since I am a Nam Vet. The Canon grip is far better than the other unit. I have tried others made for Canons and found them to be lacking.
Hope you are home for a Very Merry Christmas.
George
I bought a knock-off power grip with built in intervalometer and four batteries from Amazon for my T3i. The only problem I've had with it is that the clock is inaccurate. Other than that it does what it says. Also the bottom is kinda slippery when mounted to a tripod.
I am a Viet Vet and want to thank you for your service. Knock offs are usually unreliable. Remember "Cheap Is Expensive "...you usually get what you pay for!

Hando,
Welcome home brother, yes they do become expensive.
Have a Very Merry Christmas.

Does anyone have a Zeikos battery grip that is sold by Amazon for the 60D. It sells for $83.98 and & $84.95 from B&H. The reviews on Amazon seem to like it. I am considering it. Just wanted to know if anyone has used one and what they think. I have reservations about the reviews I've read. Thanks
