A totally democratic controlled state

A State in the Union with ABSOLUTELY NO Republicans who hold major government & political positions!

DID YOU KNOW that Illinois is the only state in the USA that is completely controlled and ruled by Democrats?

Guess what?

1. Illinois has more people on welfare than there are people working;
2. The Illinois State pension fund is $78 billion in debt, which is among the worst in country;
3. While Chicago pays among the highest [if not the highest] teachers' wages in the U.S.A., [an average of $110,000/year], and the teachers' pensions average 80-90% of their income, the Chicago school system is rated one of the worst in the U.S.A;
4. In Cook County (to which Chicago belongs), its sales tax of 10.25% is one of the highest [if not, the highest] in country;
5. Chicago has one of the highest number of murders in the U.S.A. In the first six months of 2013 alone, there were 292 murders, and Chicago has one of the strictest gun laws in the entire USA.

Since there are NO Republicans to blame, of course, the Democrats are now blaming each other.

Below are Democrats from Chicago &/or Illinois who hold public office and are in government service today:

- U.S. President: Barack Hussein Obama
- U.S. Senator: Dick Durbin
- U.S. Congressman: Jesse Jackson Jr.
[and the US Senate is Democrat-controlled.]

- Illinois State Governor: Pat Quinn
- State House leader: Mike Madigan
- State Attorney General: Lisa Madigan (Mike's daughter)

- Chicago City Mayor: Rohm Emanuel

And just in case you did not already know. . .

-George Ryan, the Democrat ex-Governor of Illinois, is in jail;

-Rob Blajegovich, also a Democrat and Ryan's successor and now also ex-Governor, is also in jail;

-U.S. Democrat Representative Jesse Jackson Jr. recently resigned, and is fighting hard to avoid going to jail. He now has gone to Jail and his wife is going to go also!!!

At the rate the State of Illinois is going. . .who knows? It might be the first state to go completely broke and bankrupt!

This is the political culture where Obama comes from, and he thinks he is going to 'fix' Washington DC and the USA and rid the country of all the 'phony' scandals involving the IRS, NSA, and the brutal murder of our Libyan ambassador????

And nobody is going to believe change is needed or support change except Democratic politicians in their speeches without action.

Nice points but wrong:
In Illinois there is the Treasurer, Comptroller, Senator Mark Kirk and six Representatives in the House who are all Republicans.
As to Governors in Jail in Illinois it's been a long standing career path.
Republican Governors George Ryan - Selling Commercial Drivers Licenses, Len Small for Corruption and W. Stratton for Tax Evasion in addition to the Democrat Governors that did time.
And the most famous corrupt politician of all Richard Daley Republican.
Maybe, it's just that Illinois has a problem.

We used to visit Chicago 4-8 times a year but, with the murders and stupid guns laws, we spend our time and money elsewhere.

You say that like that makes it acceptable. Maybe, the real problem in this country is people with an attitude like yours.

A State in the Union with ABSOLUTELY NO Republica... (show quote)

Sadly all of the above is true. Sadly any Republican that is elected to any office in this state is just as bad as any Democrat. Republicans go along to get along in Illinois. Nothing will ever change until the people get tired of business as usual which is the "Chicago Way"

That's right - its supposed to pay the cost of controlling run-off that goes into the Chesapeake Bay.

I think its been changed but don't know - a fellow told me that Howard County was assessing him something like $4,000 because of his driveway -

Just another way to grab money.

another one is the just announced planned addition to Rt95 for about a 20 mile stretch - adding two toll lanes for those who don't want to "sit in traffic"...

What are the people who don't want to "sit in traffic" going to do after they pay the toll and the 2 lanes backup?
