Just joined and I could use suggestions. I have been an amateur photog since I was in college, which was a long tine ago, like theb60's
I was really into film then, and in fact sort of got back into it recently. I picked up a Canon AE 1 program and some really nice lenses.
I bought a Canon EOS rebel digital, 6 mp, one of the earlier DRSLs. Lenses are ok about 7 years ago. Most of my photography lately though has been with various P&S cameras. They are just so convenient. Now I am retired and have time to start my old hobby again. I love nature pix, even though I think I would love to learn more about shooting pictures of people, especially b&w photojournalism type of stuff.
Ok. What do I buy as my new camera? I am leaning toward Nikon d3200. That is my budget. What lenses should I be thinking og getting?
Thanks
We all have our favorites. I personally think the new mirrorless cameras are the way to go. Smaller, lighter, and (somewhat sometimes) less expensive.
Sony NEX, Panny & Oly m4/3, Nikon 1, Canon...
My two cents.
Eric
The D3200 is probably the best deal for entry level DSLR's.

Hello and welcome to UHH.
Bike Guy,
Welcome to the "HOG". I also shoot Nikon, D7100. The D3200 would be a good entry level camera, but also look a refurbished higher level ones like the D5200 or D7000. If you buy one of these from a reputable online store like Adorama, B&H or Cameta you should have no problem.
Enjoy this great forum and let us know what choice you made.
