Loose Lens

My Nikkor 18-135 lens body is loose. Wide angle-zoom ajustment (body) is shaking/loose. My shots are not affected, but concerned it may get worse. Can this be fixed, should I attempt it, or seek professional help? Thanks for the help in advance!

I believe it's called "zoom creep." Mine does the same thing. It hasn't been an issue with shooting, but can be a pain when carrying it. You could contact Nikon for an estimate, then weight that against the cost of another lens.

if you weren't aware, the 18-135 isn't made anymore.

Use a "Lens Band":

Don't try it yourself. Zoom design can be very complicated. Something that seems simple can turn into a disaster. I had a cartoon in my shop that showed a customer at a counter in a camera repair shop pouring parts and springs and screws, etc. out of a paper bag with the line "Iwas going to fix it myself but thought why deprive a professional of his livelihood" If it's more than a few loose screws holding the mount to the lens it's best to locate a repair shop. If you can find a "real" camera store in your area they can point you in the right direction. In 20+ years in camera repair I hardly saw the same soom brand and model twice which means you start from scratch every time. Frustating and very time consuming
