I currently use a Canon Pro 9500 MkII printer. While print quality is good, I find it both slow, and ink reservoirs too small for any but very low volume printing. Is there a professional quality printer available that prints at least 13" wide, fast, and has large reservoirs?

I print with the Epson 3880 Pro and like it very much. Very high quality prints, fast and reasonable large ink cartridges (80ml each). The replacement for this printer ( the Stylus 4900 - my next one) has also roll feeder capability and the cartridges are 110ml each.

Out of curiosity, I just looked up user reviews of the 4900. Lots of bad problems reported. Take a good look before you buy. I have 3800, I think I'll stay with it for a good while.

Don't have 1st hand experience but I think you'll find the Canon Pixma Pro 1 would suit you.

I like to make my own prints, and I'm VERY conscientious on how the finished print looks - so when I needed a new pronter, I went through a similar process to what you're doing now and I looked at all my options - I wanted a printer (brand wasn't important, quality was) that could print A3 (13"X19"), that I could keep in my home office, that had reasonably sized and priced ink, and did I mention that it absolutely had to be able to print jaw-dropping prints in both color and b&w.

I bought a Canon Pixma Pro-1 ($999.00) which included a full set if inks (about $350 value) and after about a year of using it, I couldn't be more satisfied with all aspects of the printers performance. Great quality output, reliable and consistent, reasonable ink consumption and cost (buy 12 packs on Amazon and save $$$) and it's reasonably quick considering the quality, and it's even quiet when printing.

This printer is probably at the top end of the hobbyist level printers (despite its Pro-1 name) but you get a lot of printer for the money, and the next step up into a truely professional printer was big enough that it wouldn't fit in my office.

I am 100% happy with this printer and recommend it without reservation. Take a look at it, you'll be impressed.

I have to agree, a friend of mine has that printer too, it is a very nice printer and the prints are beautiful ( even though I prefer the prints from my printer), I recommend it too.
