For some reason this year, the tricocereus cactus in my front yard is not doing it's usual blooming in the Spring and in large numbers of blossoms. This Summer, it has been a slow but steady series of individual plants blooming and this has continued all the way to the middle of September. When I went to get the newspaper this morning, here was this this
single plant with a beautiful double blossom on it. Hope you enjoy the beauty of the flowers on the ugly plant.

Very nice indeed! A strange year I agree. We have a large stove pipe in our back yard, so large that many remark they've never seen one that stands probably 12-feet tall and has to be about that wide.

Anyway it didn't bloom nearly as much as in past years. The Stove Pipe is a night bloomer and in years past, in the morning, it would be covered with white blooms. Not nearly so many this year.

Strange year indeed... also here in Phoenix

You took some great close ups😃 We have also had a very strange season this year. Sometimes it's 70-80degree weather only to have 30-40degrees @ nite
It threw off our planting season & summer too. Squirrels here are now going nuts ready to bury their food for winter. Even our Hummingbirds had a really short season......

Thanks RicknJude - the sad part is they were through blooming by noon so I'm glad I went out early and saw them.

I am beginning to wonder if this climate change thing is going to be more of an issue than we think.

I can't wait until our temps get down to 70-80 degrees in the day! I included the one that is not a close up so you could see how plain and uninspiring the plants are compared to the blossoms. Glad you like them.

Did the white blossoms curl up and die before noon like these do? Interesting plants these cacti.
