These are a few of my latest shots - I have been dabbling in Photoshop and although many of the filters and effects are too far out there, I have found a few that I like. Trouble is, I don't know if other people like these or not.
Cathedral in New Orleans
landscape in Iceland
Daffodil in blue
I really like them! But can't see #2
Sorry, that one wouldn't blow up for some reason. I think my daughter had set my camera on the wrong setting - not in RAW like I usually do.

The gate in the first one is a little distracting to me, but I like it. Is the last one supposed to be leaning because it is in my view? Outside of that I like them, even the tiny little picture of Iceland.
I like the first, though I kind of agree with Tea8 about the gate. It would work better if there were two gates to frame the image. It is also leaning slightly--I have this issue quite a bit.
Is it leaning? Maybe I am off center, but I don't see that it is leaning. Maybe I have looked at it too long.
By the way, anyone know how to enlarge a photo like "Iceland" that was taken in the wrong mode? I don't even know what it was set on because my daughter changed the setting without my knowing it.
OH...the cathedral is leaning.....yes you are right. I could fix that; I didn't even notice it!
By the way, I added the clouds. Is this a bad thing to do? I just thought it helped a rather mundane photo.
I was going to try to start selling some images...already sold a few. It is a big help to get opinions of other people to see what is good and what is not. How do you guys feel about enhancing photos with Photoshop or Elements (or PaintShop Pro)?

About your cloud post. I personally really like the clouds added to that photo. As far as editing and enhancing I am learning how to do it. I got a free copy of elements 8 with my laptop when I got it over a year ago and have been learning to use it since. I think it is fine to enhance if a photo needs it. We can't all be perfect and get a perfect shot every time. (Plus I have had a couple of pics that I like so much better having in black and white with the subject in color and you just can't do that in camera)
I love the wineglass.....very nice!

Adding clouds is not a bad thing but in this shot, I felt the clouds or at least the ones chosen were too overpowering.
First thing i saw and thought that might be the reason for the shot.
I think in a pic of a calm blue sky day the shadows and lighting in the rest of the scene does not support the clouds.... maybe if they were white fluffy ones, but those almost go with a sunset or a stormy day....the light reflected in those clouds are not supported by the rest of the photo....they are nice clouds just by themselves though.
In the first image, the clouds are sort of distracting, due, in part, to their color. I think the gate, sort of leads into the image, but then, my eye is drawn to the tree and then the statue, resulting in not really knowing what the subject is. If you have the option on your camera, turn on the framing grid, it will help you get straighter images.
