Nice start. But you need to run stuff through a spell checker, so you'll find the at least 4 words I've found, maybe more.

Photography has always been an important part of my life. My interest began when I was five years old when my father first let me assist in his basement darkroom. Together we developed black and white photos and I learned the basics of photography. In high school I was a --Photographer-- for the school newspaper and yearbook. In college I studied chemistry but --contunued-- to take pictures and won a photo contest. I continued my -acedemic-- studies and became an Optometrist but always found time to --persue-- this other passion. Over the last several years I have become more involved in nature and landscape photography. I began hanging photos on the walls of my home and office. Both my friends and patients have encouraged me to --develope-- a website and share my photos. Welcome to my gallery!

---

Have fun with your website. It can be a lot of fun.

I think you're off to a Great start! And it's only going to get better...at least you're not just dreamin', you're doing something about it!
"Early Winter 2" is, in my opinion, a little over-cooked. It may not even bother anyone else, but I'm always very aware of those nasty halos that surround everything.
But, keep on keepin' on! Best of luck to you!

your link will be easier this way:

I agree, pic 2 is way to HDR overcooked, be careful with that. You need to process that pic again.

Nice start. I would also suggest lightening up the watermark, especially the white ones.

agreed, if you can see a halo around subjects your HDR is way to over cooked.

Nice, and good luck! Are #3 & #4 in need of leveling, or is it just my eyes?

It's nice to some someone who still smokes a pipe. That seems to have died out.

Early winter to me is over done, the hello's around the tree's says it was in the oven to long, and I'll never find the recipe again.

I switched from cigars to a pipe six months ago. I like it better and it smells a lot better although my wife still complains.

Yes, the halos scream heavy handed PP to me also.

#1-3 are not level, so yes Jerryc41, it is your eyes that saw that. (#1 and 2 are tilted when you see the trees are leaning to the left)

Hopefully, you have more selections coming soon, as having only 4 items to sell gives a negative feeling about your experience and intent. However, those four are very well done, less the critiques so far.

The tabs to other pages are disappointing in that they have no content. When you publicize your website, everything should be up to date and interesting. Otherwise, you'll not get many repeat visits.

I really like the format of your site. Was it canned, or did you design it yourself?

Hi IBE,
I hope your skin is thick enough for my comments.
as noted 1 & 2 are overcooked and you have aimed for too dark a sky which has taken the natural blue out of it.
They are also oversharpened and possibly too vibrant.
1,3 & 4 don't appear to be level.
4 has a distracting branch top left and the subject cries either for total symmetry or leading lines but it has neither.
Nice light, nice subjects but your compositions could be better.
There is a book called "The Photographers Eye" by Michael Freeman which would benefit you enormously.

I personally believe #1 & 2 are level. In # 1 if you look straight ahead the trees are straight, in picture #2 it looks as tho there are 2 pine trees growing one smaller than the other, giving it the appearance that it is bending to the left , look at the trunk. either way they look normal to me as I would and have expected to see them in the great northern woods .. I think #4 is not level .. apples and oranges
