Hello from Vermont - Just a visit actually....
I am new to the site. Have taken pictures since the Polaroid was out.... probably had a toy camera as a child..... Went to a Photography class recently for 5 weeks. Learned enough to just get my feet wet .... I still have a point and shoot - Sony H20. Been looking at all kinds of new slr cameras but really have concerns as to my motive in buying such expensive equipment when I don't know how much I plan to pursue it...... I have enjoyed reading and navigating thru this web site so far..... my screen name is "Hey You"....... Just want to say hello.....
Beautiful in Vermont
Family trip up the mountain
Welcome aboard.
The key is being happy with the results you get.
pLay with your point and shoot, todays technology is light years ahead of a manual 35mm slr. Play and learn ( i keep a notebook handy just to keep track of locations, conditions).
These days you dont have to break the bank to buy a serviceable dslr IF you decide you want to go that way.
Save up then buy, look for sales, used gear (KEH.COM) factory refurbs ( camera manufacturers) camera shops may have leads or used gear at reasonable prices.m CHOOSE your gear based on what your goals are. Look at local swap meets, estate sales
Finally you dont need 40 MEGAPIXELS to make a killer image, 6 MP sand above are all you need to make killer 11x14 to 16y x 20 print, PLAY, Enjoy have fun
Welcome..stick around and maybe you'll get hooked and become another Ansel Adams..never know. Any picture taken in Vermont is a winner!
