I have only recently dicovered this and it's properties are fascinating. Apparently it has at least 300 applications in curing ailments including cancer as well as purifying water and providing biofuel.

Much more information is available on the Internet. For instance:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moringa

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IWXZ47P_2BY

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CoTfyhK5WNQ

and there's much, more if you look.

I recently purchased some seeds and on the packet it said that they would sprout between 10 and 40 days after sowing. I soaked them in water for 24 hours on Monday, sowed them on Tuesday morning. Friday morning two shoots appeared and then on Saturday two more appeared. They seem to be in a hurry. I'm attaching a photo just to give you an idea.

This is a tree that could solve many of the world's nutritional problems.

Thanks for the info, Gargleblaster. I looked at Maringa info some time ago and the only seeds I could find were in commercial quantities. Much more than I would ever be able to use. Would you be so kind as to let us know where you purchased the seeds? Or, if you have more than you need I would be more than happy to purchase a few from you.

Hi Jimjay: Not at all. I bought them here:

http://www.spicegarden.eu/epages/62431129.sf/es_ES/?ObjectPath=/Shops/62431129/Products/S-3770

I bought just 15 seeds. I am sure that they would be able to reply to you in English.

"Añadir a la cesta" means "Add to cart" and you can pay by credit card or PayPal.

Let me know if you have any problems.

These might also help:

From Webmd:
Special Precautions & Warnings:
Pregnancy and breast-feeding: It’s UNSAFE to use moringa if you are pregnant. Chemicals in the root, bark, and flowers can make the uterus contract, and this might cause a miscarriage.

It’s also best to avoid moringa if you are breast-feeding. There isn't enough information to know whether it is safe for a nursing infant.

In that case, let's hope that the world will soon be full of Moringa trees!

What climate will it grow in?
Just because I'm too lazy to research it.
