Thank you, Mallardo. :D Say, it would be awesome to get down to the gulf to take some shots like this. Do you ever do that?

Unfortunately, I haven't been to the Coast since the November just prior to Hurricane Katrina. I plan on some trips to South Louisiana in the not too distant future, though. It's a gorgeous part of the country with tons of good subject matter.

Come to think of it, we have a number of S. Louisiana Photogs here on the Hog. You're right, it would be awesome. I wonder why we don't see more shots of this type from down south? :)

I know. When I was 14 years old...almost 40 years ago now  ... I camped with my family on an Island in the Gulf that wasn't very far from New Orleans. I can't for the life of me remember the name of it now, but it was spectacular. It was the first time for me, that I had ever seen anything close to an ocean type body of water. I was mesmerized. The fast little crabs on the beach, the sand, the huge waves. They were huge to me. I loved it!

Another place I want to go revisit is Michigan. I was in a relationship for many years with a woman who was from a small village called Posen on the northern tip of the Lower Peninsula. We went there twice while we were together and both times were in October. Jeeze, the colors! In Louisiana, we don't get so much of that. We pretty much go from a million shades of green to two shades of brown and then back again, lol. It was an awesome experience for me. Throw in the Great Lakes and it was bonus points. She and I are still very close friends, I may need to hit her up for a road trip, lol. :)
