I shot the moon twice tonight before the clouds set in. Used two different outfits. Both on a tripods. Not intended as a scientific comparison just curious to see the result. The Nikon image was with a D7100 and Sigma 300 2.8 + dedicated 1.4 Ext. The Panasonic was a G5 and 45-200 f4-5.6. Both cropped and sharpened.

Just my opinion but it looks like the Nikon is just a tad sharper.

Nice...Nikon is nicer, though both in sharpness and contrast IMO. What settings did you use? All my moons are either underexposed or overexposed and need lots of PP to get anything useful.

I took my first moon shots with my brand new A77 a few nights ago. I set it on auto for a couple shots flash on and off and on aperture priority for a couple. My best moons with my A330 were shot at anywhere between f/5.6 and f/16 with an ISO of up to 200. Knowing that my new camera is much more light sensitive and detailed (ISO/MP) than my A330, I put it on f/20 and the camera chose ISO 1600...it still came out overexposed. When I compare my best A330 moon with the A77 moon, there's no comparison. I can only imagine how it would look when I finally get the hang of teh new camera. May I post? (I put a less PP'd version on a prior topic)
