Mac Mail Contacts

I want to forward some pictures, and I can't find my contact list, using Mac Mail. Typing part of the address does not complete the address. How can I find all my contacts?
EDIT: How can I get it to make that shwooshing sound when it sends email. I'm a PC user, temporarily using the MacBook Pro.

What I would try is to log into your email account on the internet - Mac Mail is set up to interface with that (possibly multiple) account(s). Then you should be able to access your contacts. I use an iMac at home and a PC at work, so I'm familiar with both systems. I don't like or use Mac Mail. At home I use Safari and log into my Yahoo email and then I can access all of my contacts and the email folders that I've set up.

Since the end of August, if I travel, I cannot send email using my home acc't - RoadRunner. I can receive and do everything else with my computer, but I cannot send RR email. I have to use my Gmail account.
When I called RR, they said, basically, "just one of those things."

That's beyond my knowledge base - lots of strange happenings with computers!
