Did you read the article? (I'm of the same persuasion, but those aren't part of the article.)

Having read the article wasn't listed as a criterion for answering your question.

As it turns out, I have indeed read this article previously. I stand by my own definition of where I feel I belong politically.
I feel like I'm a "plundered", Rob.

"Political tags - such as royalist, communist, democrat, populist, fascist, liberal, conservative, and so forth - are never basic criteria. The human race divides politically into those who want people to be controlled, and those who have no such desire. The former are idealists acting from highest motives for the greatest good of the greatest number. The latter are surly curmudgeons, suspicious and lacking in altruism. But they are more comfortable neighbors than the other sort."
Quote from Robert Heinlein, Methuselah's Children, and it pretty much defines my beliefs about politics and politicians in general. Actually, specifically defines my beliefs about politicians.
I am specifically one of the latter mentioned above. Neighborhood curmudgeon.

To paraphrase Robert Louis Stevenson "If you don't listen to politicians you are uninformed - if you do listen to politicians you are misinformed" (Not exactly what he said - he was actually talking about newspapers but I like this version)
I always think of this when listening to politicians - especially around election time. (which we have just been through)

Thomas Jefferson said something similar - "The man who reads nothing at all is better educated than the man who reads nothing but newspapers."

I like that too, haven't heard/seen that one before. :-)
Two choices ....
Fed Up!
Disgusted!
Bastiat has no match in defining the concept of "legalized" plunder - theft under the guise of law - via government force.
I am the antithesis of plunder.
