I like the lighter of the two. The reflections are nice; but I don't think there was a lot to work with in this photo. For me, there is no drama, no real focal point. I obviously don't see what you saw. It happens to me all the time, I'll shoot an image and then wonder what I wanted to get across to my viewers when I am reviewing the photo.
