eBay, Amazon, Adorama, B&H, Cameta, KEH

You should find dozens of lenses between $280 and $325 or so. Don't pay more. Look for a Canon USA warranty.

EDIT: Sorry, didn't realize you're looking for a CAMERA & BODY. My price range no longer applies. But the suggested vendors do. BUT, just get a price for the camera and lens - don't get ripped off with a lot of other useless junk that they might try to package in a 'bundle' - lens cleaning clothes, a table-top tripod, cheap bag, etc etc. Just the BODY and a LENS - the body should come with a battery and charger as well, so don't let them try to sell you a battery and charger for more money. IT COMES IN THE BOX. Same thing with a strap.

http://www.adorama.com/ICAT3IK2.html T3I with the 135 mm lens $999. is about standard right now. The price includes $100 rebate. The price for a T2I with a 55mm lens is alsoselling at the moment, because of the rebate. You could find a refurb, T2I with the 55mm lens for around $639, if you consider a refurbished one or $599 used. At Adorama.
If the prices are much less it is too good to be true.

abesofmaine.com Canon t3i with Canon 18-135 lens $889 with free shipping. They always call to check on the order then try to sell you insurance or filters. Politely say "No thank-you" and just what you ordered will be shipped with Canon USA warranty. T2i with Canon 18-55 lens is $605 with 18-135 $798 both with free shipping. They are located in New Jersey (taxes need to be paid in state).

I have a T2i. After the T3i came out I read a some reviews T2i vs. T3i, as I was curious of course, and I'm glad I have the T2i. Newer isn't always better. At least for me I'm glad I have the T2i as the battery lasts longer than the T3i amongst other things. All IMHO of course. Just google T2i vs. T3i and you'll find a ton of reviews for these two.

Also with the T2i being older, it's cheaper now and you can better afford a better lens than the kit lens and still spend less than the T3i.

Also bought the T2i. After reading many reviews, there was nothing that made me wish I would have waited for the T31.

I own a T3i and love it. I can use the built-in flash as a trigger for an off-camera flash. Pretty cool.

If I had to do it over again, I would have purchased the camera separate from the lens. Have since upgraded my "kit" lens for both and 85mm 1.8 sigma and a 70-200 2.8 sigma. Both of these pieces of glass are far superior to the canon telephoto that was "included".

You'll like the T2i. And from what I've been told, that is a pretty good lens, especially for a "kit" lens.

Congrats. I discovered the "sweet spot" for that lens is an apeture of 8.0. Enjoy!
