Which Big company has the worst "customer service?"
I'd like to nominate Comcast cable tv, internet and home phone service as the worst I have encountered. Where I live in Jacksonville, FL Comcast has pretty much a monopoly for these services and my experience has been that as long as the cable, internet or phone service works it works pretty well; however if you have any kind of service problem Comcast appears to go to any lengths necessary to make sure it doesn't get handled promptly or professionally. I once decided to try Comcast phone service and called them about 30 days in advance, giving my address and all the information needed to institute service. About 10 minutes before my installation was supposed to take place they called to inform me that "we don't offer phone service at your address." Duh! like they didn't know that 30 days before? Oh, just as well, if you wanted phone, tv and internet you had to have 3 different installers, all of whom never talked to each other and never coordinated their installations. I might mention that before we got Comcast, we had ATT cable tv....it was so bad the city council revoked their franchise...At present I have had no Comcast phone service since last week when lightning took out the phone modem. I had an appointment for Comcast to come out between 5 and 7 to fix it. They called and emailed me about 6 times yesterday and 5 times today to confirm my appoint. Of course, they never showed at all and told me it was because I didn't confirm the appointment which I had confirmed about 10 times in the last 2 days! Is there any big company worse than Comcast?

Microsoft and I'm not even going to start on that rant.
Time Warner Cable.....they sure do make themselves look good in the commercials but their installation, their service, their customer support, their equipment......the pits. I'd warn everyone who thinks of going this route to re-think that selection. During the time we had their service bundle...Internet, phone and TV....I lost television signal for fifteen minutes or longer every day, the phone would be in the fritz for three to five days before it was repaired, and Internet service failed at least twice a week or more. Customer service had no answers, the didn't replace the broken equipment they installed in the first place........not a happy satisfied customer at all.
Intuit. Today 3 1/2 hours 3 idiots from ? , 1 new application and $40. Finally a supervisor who spoke English and actually listened. 1 refund of $40 1 new app removed and finally The app I already own works. I am a patient and soft spoken woman but I was yelling and wanting to swear like a drunk sailor or better yet reach through the phone and choke someone....if the idiots would just shut up and listen to the problem we could fix it but nooooo they have to interrupt and try to fix a different problem grrrrrrr
In the UK, I would nominate TalkTalk. If you e-mail them with a complaint, all the reply says is "Sorry to hear about your "issues," assuring you of our best attention at all times.
I wrote back and told them that there was nobody in their company who would be capable of organising a drinks party in our town's brewery.
I vote for Time Warner as well. Their commercials should be cited for "truth in advertising" inaccuracies.
I had similar experience with Comcast in St. Augustine. So I voted with my feet and switched to Direct TV
On the other hand, I would nominate Canon as one with the best customer service. (Also Vision computers)
I'm with you as you have linked two of the worst. Took me a year to get rid of AT&T and now it has been three months and still have not gotten my refund from Comcast. Although when I did call Comcast I actually talked with someone from USA... so there is still hope for the refund!
I do not like either AT&T or Comcast. Or any other company that will only converse to you by a computer only! It seems that the big phone and cable companies do not have brick and mortar stores anymore just so they do not have to talk directly to a customer in person. I tried to deal with the people at an AT&T cell store about my DSL, BIG Mistake and BIG hassle just to get my service back to what it was before they tried to make an upgrade that failed.
I see Ally Bank advertises a lot on this group. I just spent a month trying to solve a problem they caused (they admitted finally I did nothing wrong). They threatened to take 28% of my interest and send it to the IRS. I spent hours on this problem. Finally dropped them and took my $$ out. Grrrrr
I concur 100%. I am in a condo complex where a board member signed a binding clandestine contract with Comcast before leaving town, and leaving us with years of misery. I and the other 300 persons stuck with them for another few years can vouch for your vote for Comcast.
