Pop Ups

Good morning everyone. Lately I have started getting pop ups when I am on this site. Only on this site. When I am on the main page before I can click on a topic a large pop up hits and I have to close it before clicking on the next topic. As soon as I am done reading the topic and go back to the main page here comes the pop up again. Today's is about raisins. Last week it as advertising a new show. This is the only website this happens on. I am using an iPad 2. Does anyone know how to stop this very annoying problem before I have to stop enjoying this website.

Look for a "PopUp Blocker" for your browser. I added one to my Firefox and the pop-ups are over 90% eliminated!!

Most modern intranet browsers now have pop-up blockers as a user preference. If you are using a Mozilla made browser look in tools/options, or Preferences for a check box to tick that will block unrequested pop-ups. You don't want to block all pop-ups as some that you have to open will provide valuable information, and the site may not perform correctly if pop-ups are blocked.
Advertisements are automatic pop-ups and can be blocked.
If you are using a non Mozilla browser look for the possibility to install "Add-Ons" to block pop-ups.

I noticed that too. On my iPad it did not show the whole screen. I went into the Safari settings and turned off the popup blocker then opened up Safari. I then closed Safari and went back into the settings and enabled the popup blocker. This seems to of fixed the problem for now.

I had the same problem 2 days ago. I tryed to stop them without any success. After all I backed up all my files and software and recovered Windows. This took a lot of time but now I do not have any pop ups.

I think some are confused... If you are using Windows, then Safari is probably not the browser you are using. And Firefox doesn't apply to OP's problem at all.
Blocking pop-up windows stops only those windows that appear when you open or close a page. It does not block pop-up windows that open when you click a link. For more control you need to go to the "Web content" section in Safari.

I periodically have to delete all my cookies from Safari; the pop-up blocker is an older bit of technology that many companies have found a way around be imbedding cookies for their pop-ups insidiously deep inside legitimate software.

When you figure it out please let us all know. I have a Galaxy Note and keep getting them to. I've even had porn pop up automatically. I mean hard core porn. Not just a little T&A.
On my desktop computer I had trouble too. Only on this site. I had ad ware tie up my back button so bad that I couldn't check one thread and go back to click on another. I'm beginning to wonder if a greedy owner/manager of this site isn't being careful about who they let have ad space here -
The only way I could stop the ad-ware was to change browsers.

Maybe, but the back button ad only happened when I'm UHH on my desktop with IE.
The porn only happens on my Galaxy Note 10.1 and only when I surfing on UHH.

I don`t get ads, but sometimes when I post I can`t get back to the forum, it just goes to the post I answered, then it goes back to my reply. I have to go to top of page and click newest topics. :-)
