I Swore I'd Never Shoot a Wedding, but...
Delightful bird series and hilarious wedding capture - thank you for sharing, gessman :)
Love the birds, especially the flycatcher. I've heard of jumping the broom but looks like the bride and groom are about to jump the flowers. Wonder if that makes it official.

Thanks for looking. I don't know if that would make it official or not but that bunch acted like they'd already jumped on a bunch of weed.

People in the hills of...oops, I'd better not say where and make some folks mad at me...anyway, some think jumping the broom makes it official. Seems like nothing is ever official anymore.
I especially liked the tux and sneakers combo in the wedding photo. Are you sure this was not here in south Georgia?
On several, your use of Negative-Space makes the shot outstanding. Many people do not realize the difficulty shooting birds... just when you get thing right... they are off to the races... and you photograph a twig. All of these shots were well done... it is just that I especially liked the ones with Negative-Space.

All wonderful, but the sweet shot of the Flycatcher is just charming. Loved the downloads - very encouraging that you can get these shots handheld! You seem to capture a lot of personality of these little guys. My other fav is the Meadowlark.
Thanks so much for sharing and for your funny wedding story. There IS a conspiracy.

I went out one day back in the Spring to find and shoot a Meadowlark. I found some and got some so-so shots plus a few other bird shots and on the way home I rounded a turn and found myself having to stop for a photo shoot taking place in the middle of the road. Here was a wedding party doing a group shot smack dab in the middle of the road so, being a captive audience, and in spite of my vow to never shoot a wedding, I raised my camera and shot through the windshield.
Obviously, judging from appearance of the participants in the wedding party, I was closer to South Park than Hyannis Port or Kennebunkport. I guess I was a welcome guest - the bride had a big smile on her face and the photographer turned around and took a shot of me hopefully to include in the album. LOL. We sometimes do things differently here in the wild west, like marry in the middle of the road... Actually, there was a wedding chapel just off to my right, a beautiful setting in an old three story home that was moved up into the mountains from down in Denver and these people were refugees from there.

I guess this could have happened anywhere nowadays but certainly South Park sure came to mind in a hurry. And the dude in the sneakers with no socks, when he started sneaking he reminded me of Nicolas Cage in that goofy vampire movie where he went running all over town crouched down, awww, forget it...
What I really enjoyed was the symbolism - the sacrificial virgin bride in white and everyone else mourning. In the image below, it appears that most everyone had their heads bowed and eyes closed, perhaps for prayer, except the two ladies on the right who appear to be watching the photographer getting a close up of his favorite part of the ceremony, the blonde's derriere. :)

Thanks Don. I appreciate you droppin' by for a look and your comments. I've been trying to work on the negative space thing. And yes sir, I have a lot of twig shots. :-)

Thanks 2MATO. I think each of these guys have a pretty unique personality. It all happened in such a short period but I'm still thinking about the wedding and how serendipity was on my side that day, or not.

Thank you Puglover. I've been enjoying it for months. I may have to shoot some more. Only other wedding I've been in previously was 54 years ago and I almost died of fright. I'm still shaking from that one. This one was a lot easier. :-)
