I was using 32 bit Adobe Elements 10 on my old computer before it crashed and burned. I now have a new computer with windows 8.
Apparently the 32 bit won't work with Windows 8 and I need a copy of the 64 bit Elements 10

I don't think there is a 64 bit version of PSE. But you should be able to get 32 bit versions of applications working in Windows 8. I know of other people who have done that.

Basically you find the setup program (often called "setup.exe" or something similar), right-click on it and choose the "Compatibility" tab of the properties page. Check the box that says "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" and choose "Windows XP Service Pack 3". Then try running the program again.

It works on mine.
you might want to try compatibility change in windows for older programs.
But I think something is wrong with your set up because I haven't had to change anything in my computer to get it to work.
