I have one and love it. It has not come off my camera since I got it.
If you do a search, here, you'll find several discussion on the lens.
Good luck.

Have seen some images taken with that lens and they looked great.

I have just bought one and I like the images but.... How do you stop the lens creep (zoom)? If the lens is pointing upward it tends to go to 18mm and if its pointed downward it goes toward 270mm plus it's a bit stiff when moving in the 70-100mm range.

I've been interested in this type of lens too. Does the old rule of using a tripod if the shutter speed is longer than the inverse of the lens length still apply (200mm = 1/200 sec = fastest to handhold?) Or does the fact that the lens is physically shorter than the old prime long lenses were change the equation. I realize image stabiliztion will help regardless, just want to know how the lens zoom affects shutter speed on these newer lenses. Thanks!

I brought one for my girlfriend, she loves it! I use the Nikon 18mm-200mm, I think for the money the Tamron is a better buy.

I have one of the older Nikon 18-200mm. This lens creeps as well. I did find a solution to this. Go to Walmart and buy
Scunci "no slip grip" hair thingies. These little rubber rings fit perfectly on my 18-200 and prevent it from creeping out when I am carrying it around. Part# 063-04-1598. Not sure if it will work on the Tamron.

Thanks, I'll go to WallyWorld today and see if I can locate one of these thingies. Good idea.

you re-focus and re-compose - which is usually a good idea anyway.

Thanks for the tip. I didn’t fine the hair holder thingie that you described with the part number you provided. However, thanks to your idea, I did find a Sciinci hair holder thingie that will work.
