Two week ago I purchased a Lexar 1000x CF to use in my D800. I usually use a Lexar 600x in my camera but wanted a faster write speed because of the buffer and 36mp. I also use LR5 to catalog my images. At end of the import I get an error that not all images were imported. Also, I get a color bar across some of the images, please see the images attached.
To get the images off the card, I delete the images that LR recognized to imported from the card and run the import again. If all fails I manually move the cards from the the card.
If someone else has had this problem and resolved it, please advise. Also, I am aware that this card is not listed in the Nikon D800 manual as a tested and approved memory card.
I use the same cards (32 gig) in my D800 but have not had any issues with them. Is it just one card or does it happen in others?
I don't use Lightroom.

I had to send the first card back and rec'd a second card on last Friday. It does the same thing as the first.

That's a bummer. I have 12 Lexar 1000x cards and have never had any issues.
Let us know what becomes of this.

Do you get a reason not all were imported?

Also. another thing that I noticed the images are not written to the card in a sequential order.
Did you properly format the cards before using them? I use the same card in a D800E and have had no issues at all, fast write speeds are nice.
Best way to clean the card before using or testing again is to format the card IN THE COMPUTER, then insert it in the camera body and format it in the camera before using it. This will completely clean the card and prepare it for use. This should also get completely rid of any little tag along files or fragments that may be on the card.
Good luck.

I reported the problem to Lexar and they had me format the first card in the computer. I use the instruction that they sent me via email. This did not clear up the problem on the first card. I have not formatted the second card but I will. Is it better to format the card on a Mac or PC?

That should make no difference at all, so long as it is done first in the computer and then secondly in the camera.

Thanks for your advise. I will try your suggested formatting procedure on the second card.
Have you looked at your card reader compatibility?

I hate to ask the obvious question, but do you have the same issue with a different type (brand) of card?

If the images look fine whilst still in the card, then this may be a file transfer problem (due to the amount of files and speed?). All I did was copy the individual file again from the card to the computer and it was OK.
Good practice to always check the copied images before re-formatting the cards. I do this even in the field when transferring to a tablet. A bit more time consuming, but I don't lose images that I may not be able to shoot again.
