Music concert photo tips

It's always the same old stuff... concert photos all look about the same.
Here's an easy procedure that will "get what you want".
1. Arrange to shoot during the sound-check. Then you can get eye level perspective (by shooting on the stage). Ask the light guy to "light 'em up". (They usually will)
2. Provided you have enough light (see item #1)... use your
cheap lenses and shoot into the spots. This will provide some great flares to add some color blasts into a usually mundane shot.
3. Shoot fast enough to get a reasonable stop-motion... but if you get a little motion-blur it makes things "swim" a bit. (not so antiseptic)
