Just look around... or in the mirror...

Truly sad.

I get it. Maybe I'm old. My two kids, their spouses and 6 grandchildren rented a beach house last week. As soon as the kids were in bed, all four of the adult kids sat themselves in the living room with either cell phones or i-pads in their hands. Everytime I tried to make conversation, I would get a hmmm or uhuh. Finally after 1/2 hour of this, I left and went for a walk. They are all very good parents, but I have seen the kids ask them a question when they are in this state and they don't even hear. Like I said, I wasn't raised with this technology and don't understand the need to know everything at any moment.

I've lost count of the number of times I've seen people walking out into the road without looking whilst sending a text. Yes it's spelt text not txt.

What worries me is to see a lady come out of a store and go straight to her car with the phone stuck in her ear. They never look around to see if there might be trouble lurking. They never look around before unlocking their cars just steady yak yak yak on the phone.

Now that school is starting, students as so involved with texting or yaking on the phone, they don't pay attention to where they are going or what is going on around them. They just wander willy nilly into the road.

Everyone has a phone. Most phones have cameras. So, with millions of cameras immediately to hand, how come we never see a clear, unambiguous shot of a UFO or a ghost or .......... (Insert here any supernatural crap).

wtf I see this crap all the time. Mostly driving but everyone seems to stuck to their little screens. I am telling you If you want some extra cash just walk up behind these idiots and stick your thumb in their neck "gimme your cash". They are so out of touch with their immediate surroundings I am suprised that more people aren't falling into large holes. I am waiting for the day that a sunspot blots their screens out and they all forget how to breath. I will not feed these idiots when all goes south and they actually have to have some skills to hunt and gather.

I used to watch mid level managment, almost running between meetings, with their Blackberries open, reading/writeing the email of the moment and walk right into walls, tools, people and doors.

This recently happened in Indiana. Listening with headphones on, he didn't notice the train that hit him at 110 mph. Either natural selection failed or God wants him to live.
