Some accidents are a good thing. You demonstrated that here.

Another great shot, Patty. I can almost smell the ocean. Thanks for sharing.

As I said, it was an accident. I had been shooting the rocks as the waves rolled in to hit them. Two of the earlier shots are posted here. He just flew into the shot and I liked it, even though for "Pictures of Birds in Flight" he is not anything special. Just a nice touch to the ocean view.

Thanks for the comments.

Hi Patty,

I enjoyed the third photo best. Good color, lighting and composition. You got the exposure right, show lots of wave action, and there are no distracting fence posts, and the horizon looks straight. Good job!

The last shot is by far the best. Patty I read your post on the Dear Admin thread and I think you might enjoy reading the book, Learning to see Creatively by Bryan Peterson. He is fun and easy to read and he has some exercises for you to try as you read through it.
He as several other very good books the best in my opinion is Understanding Exposure.

Heirloom Tomato and Country's Mama: Using an old (12 years) Olympus point and shoot camera limited so much of the things I might have done, but once in a while I was able to get a good shot. I thought the third photo was the best as well, but, had I owned the new camera, I wonder how much better that shot might have been? Of course the learning curve on the new camera is HUGE for me, so there is much for me to learn. Thank you, Country Mama, for recommending Bryan Peterson's book. I will order it and learn more from it.
