Assignment was "a place" and we needed to think outside the box... I know now that my white balance was off but thought this was a cool place......

White balance is off your right,but i like the subject,we have 2 drawers like this at my house we call them drunk drawers.

It looks like you're taking a picture INSIDE the box... not outside! LOL
I'm not sure it's your white balance, you might need a fluorescent filter (because the underlying color is yellow, not blue). Most digital cameras have several settings for fluorescent lighting, even P&S's.
