I've only had it 24hrs and so far I love it! I really haven't had much time to study it. I'm a Nikon user trying out her first Canon so it's a bit of a learning curve. I do notice sharper images than I get with my Nikon D3000 and that's without trying to hard either. Here is just a sample of some quick shots.
Flowers in the back yard around our pond
Bird on our pond waterfall
Bird on a power line
Our baby girl "Giggles"
All great shots but I must say that Giggles is definitely my favourite - those cute tummy freckles are a winner!!

What lens came with your 70D? The bird pics are tack sharp. Enjoy your new camera.

You had the choice between the 18-55mm or the 18-135mm. Since my husband got a camera too, we got one 18-135mm and purchased the 70-300mm lens separately (they gave us $300 off on the zoom lens). I haven't even played with the 18-135mm yet. I just love the 70-300mm.
Smart move -- enjoy the new cameras

What lens are you using? Think it is the lens or camera? Why? Did you have a comparable lens on the Nikon?

I believe my Nikon would do better with a better lens. I'm sure it's a bit more the operator than the equipment ;-). On the Nikon, I have kit lenses that came with the camera (18-55mm & 55-200mm). On the Canon I took these photos with the Canon EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6. I haven't yet tried the Canon 18-135mm yet.
I bought the Canon for multiple reasons, but one of them is the better sensor. We were also told that the lenses are better than your typically kit lens. I don't know a bunch about lenses so I had to take his word for it.
Don't forget you have a whole new type of focusing system in that camera, which from all I've seen works very very well.

No question that Canon EF lenses are better than anyones kit lens or the third party lenses. But while i have no experience with them I have heard the same is true for the better Nikon lenses. Please keep us informed
