Brilliant image Nightski, this really is "next Level" stuff
Geoff
I don't know about that, GWR. I just happened to notice this guy as I was coming out of the woods on to the bike path. But thank you for the nice comment :D
Your little Olympus did a good job of capturing the action. I think your grasshoppers must be quite a bit bigger than ours. Just as well they don't bite!
Please don't undersell yourself Nightski, the comments are fully justified.

I should have known it would be you to notice that! Well, when I first got there, he hadn't eaten any of the caterpillar yet, and I was afraid he was going to hop away, so I pulled the olympus out of my pocket, instead of taking time to load a lens. You just love that don't you, Mr. Pocket Camera Guy! He just looks big because I shot him in Macro.

Congratulations on the quick thinking. You could have ended up with a shot of a half-eaten caterpillar  . And half-eaten caterpillars are SOOOOO old hat :-) .

Ummmm..RG...This caterpillar is half eaten. There was more of him to start out with. So, yeah, thanks for calling my photo old hat
I'll rephrase then. You could have ended up with a shot of JUST a half-eaten caterpillar. And I'm sure you'd agree, a shot like that wouldn't have quite the same sense of drama that your one does.
