Wading birds at Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge

Last week, while the family was at the seashore in Delaware, I took a day to go down to Virginia to the Chincoteague NWR to see if I could find the Bar-tailed Godwit that had been reported there, a bird that breeds in Alaska and is rarely seen on the east coast. Alas, I did not find the Godwit but did get some nice photos of a Juvenile Little Blue Heron and a glossy Ibis. I hope you enjoy them!

All taken with my 500mm lens and 1.4 teleconverter at 1/2500, f/8 ISO between 320 and 500.

Yum!!! Baby eels!
Yum!!! Baby eels!...

Now what do I do?
Now what do I do?...

Help me get this thing off!!!

Your pics are always well worth a look but my question is how would you decide what is a hanger from what you post because my walls would not be big enough.

Thanks, Oldmalky, for the flattering words. I do, actually, have a gallery of my photos in my home and, no, I couldn't fit everything in it if I wanted to. I print only those that have a special attribute to them and, believe it or not, are not all birds. I also take travel and landscape photos too. The other criteria is that it look good in a larger size. I print 13" x 19" and sometimes 13" x 44" (panoramas) and not everything enlarges well.

You deserve every bit of praise you get and from me it is meant most sincerely.

This is a stunning series. I'm just glad baby eels are on this bird's diet and not mine. They probably wiggle all the way down.:-) Anyway, you've caught the drama of the catch.
