I went to the cemetery yesterday to take some pictures of the swans and geese in the pond there but the door to a mausoleum caught my eye and I just had to take some photos. As I was processing the first one I was playing around with it and happened to hit the 50% view button. I was amazed at some of the detail that showed up in it so I cropped and refined it to come up with the second view. I believe I like the detail photo even more than the full image.

Liked your door! Isn't it amazing how many pictures one may make from one frame? On one of our back road trips, we live in central Texas (40 miles north of Houston)and it's a photographer's dream. Shot bunch of old, closed service stations and which included "doors". I found the knobs and hardware great fuel for close ups. What part of Iowa? Went to Iowa Wesleyan, Mt. PLeasant, back when Iowa was dry and we darn near killed ourselves driving to Gulf Port IL.
We been overrun by wild Humming Birds---see samples:

I'm right smack in the center. Quite a ways from mount pleasant. I believe they hold the old threshers reunion in Mt. Pleasant don't they? That would be a great photo op. nice pics of the hummingbird. Thanks for looking at my photos.

A bit of a correction. In reviewing the pics I posted, I can see a difference. I must have used a second photo of the same door to crop. The first one doesn't have the same shadows in it on the right hand door.
The door is fantastic! There are a lot of photo ops in that one find.

Interesting catch, it must have been a cloud shadow, since the shadow of the handle on the left is pretty much exactly in the same position.
