A mixture of sun, rain and wind made a good challenge for my new lens. It's going to take some getting used to in low light.

Good set HR-----The 100 -400mm looks like a really good investment.

Thanks for looking. The 400 prime was sharper by a little but I was finding that 400mm was to long on many occasions and the 100-400 will focus at about 1/2 the distance the 400 prime will so I traded knowing I was going to loose some quality but convenience of the zoom is worth it to me.

You're right, it doesn't do low light very well.

Thanks for looking. That's the first time I have seen a Kite in this area and hope to see more and hopefully a little closer so I can get a better shot.

Great series of photos. I'm glad the snake lost and I hope the frog lived another day to tell his tale. Cheers.

What an incredible first shoot with the new lens.

I have just purchased the 400 prime as you say the minimum focus is a limitation otherwise it is great

I love the pictures. Frog and snake really good capture. Don't believe that I would be unhappy at all with the pictures.

The 400 prime is a little sharper but I am happy with the 100-400. Thanks for looking and the comment.

Thanks for the comment. I wish that I could have got in a little closer but didn't want to get in the swamp so I was about 20' away.
