Medical Insurance

No one can sum it up better than Trump.
Let me get this straight . . .
We're going to be "gifted" with a health plan we are forced to purchase and fined if we don't, which purportedly covers at least ten million more people, without adding a single new doctor,
but provides for 16,000 new IRS agents, written by a committee whose chairman says he doesn't understand it, passed by a Congress that didn't read it and exempted themselves from it, and signed by a President who smokes,
with funding administered by a treasury chief who didn't pay his taxes, for which we'll be taxed for four years before any
benefits take effect, by a government which has already bankrupted Social Security and Medicare,

all to be overseen by a surgeon general who is obese, and financed by a country that's broke!
'What the hell could possibly go wrong?'

Those with the Ca$h will take a 'medical vacation' to Singapore,

Keep listening to the BS from Washington. They want to have total control over everyone except themselves. Congressmen pass laws with out know what they are voting. They spend money when there is none to spend. They make rules just for themselves. They bypass the constitution. They are all incompetent and need to be replace.

I am all for free stuff, too. I hope to catch some of that oil depletion allowance, the big agriculture dole ($30 billion), unnecessary Pentagon contracts, $700 billion + tax breaks for the wealthy, and all sorts of privatization schemes, which hand valuable public assets to private corporations. Is that the kind of "free stuff" you are talking about, or are you complaining about the minimal dole that is welfare, which is temporary, contingent on proving attempts to acquire a job, and the majority of whose recipients work full or part time?

this is america, how dare you beat up on our free enterprise system, the major beneficiary being corporations, financiers and politicians! once they're fat and happy, something will trickle down to the great unwashed!

the systems works because once they get there's, we'll get ours, so pnagy, get out of the way! that's capitalism and progress! :)

(do i need to add - sarcasm alert?)

Merlin; Your "story" indicates to me that that you probably don't know a whole hell of a lot about kidney transplantation.

Let's see now....the thread is about, "Obamacare Explained for the Low Information Voter".............and here we have "The Great Nagy" attempting to lecture us on the relative "merits" of "big government as usual", as opposed to capitalism, (with a brief, but somewhat un-intelligible bit about "welfare" thrown in for good measure!)

Way to go, Peter ! ( If you can't dazzle them with brilliance, you sure can baffle them with bullshit !)

The assumption is that the folks who are not insured do not get medical help. They do. They get medical help from doctors now.

Do we need more doctors? Yes we do, will we have more doctors yes we will. I do not see a decline in applications for medical school. We lgraduate about 9,000 new docs per year.

Why would you be against anyone getting medical help if they need it? Why are you against someone getting a check up?

Only about 5% of the population is not on some sort of medical insurance plan now. What we are talking about is a portion of that 5%. In short, 195.9 million have some sort of health insurance.

We are finding that insurance rates are going down because of OBamacare. Although the pundits claimed that health ins costs would go up, in New York they dropped by 50%!

SS is not broke. At worst it will continue to pay out some 75% of benefits on an on going basis.

It can be easily fixed. Raise the amt one pays into it or increase the amt earned that pays into it. Reagan did it!

Medicare is the major problem. We are an aging nation and the costs go up with age after about 75. But, the baby boom bump will die off and things will right itself. We may have to raise premiums but it will be nothing like going to get medical care without having medicare!

In short, we have to pay for what we want.

Now, if you feel that these costs are too much to bear, then go somewhere where these programs do not exist and pay your own way when you need help.

Or, come up with a better solution. In short, lead, follow or get out of the way!
