beautiful scene
Ken, although I'd never be able to choose, I am thinking this is one of your best, the muted colors, the subject--it all just comes together with the verse and makes the sum of the parts complete. You really do need to do a book and include this with the missions.
That is an attractive shot and meaningful quote Ken.

Thank you (and all of the others) for your kind comments. And I am still thinking about doing a book on the missions, just need to get the layout set in my mind and how big to make the book. The dreaded "edit" process.
Regarding the "verse/quote" used here, it is of my own creation. I really couldn't find something that I liked that fit, so I wrote something of my own.

Thank you. This really isn't a quote, per se, as it is something of my own creation.
. . .and, thank you for looking.
I love that you created your own psalm of praise!

I love what you've done with both the photo and verse. They're wonderful.

Thank you for your kind words. I think I know now why I haven't done my book on the California missions. While I have all 21 of them on film, and some of them I have photographed a number of times, I realized that I have this very strong need travel the El Camino Real once again to shoot them all one more time with my digital cameras.
Maybe spending longer/more time at some of the missions this time, with an eye that has gained new perspectives over the years. I very much would like to shoot all of the missions with my dedicated color infrared camera, as well as my big full frame Canon.
The first time, with film, I only wanted to capture the outside of the missions and didn't do any interior shots. This next time I am thinking I should add some inside shots, using my tripod and long exposures for some nice fine art images. Maybe I'll take my lighting system for use where they might allow? I am thinking that this is going to be a very large book!
Maybe this time I will be able to find some other photographer(s) to tag along or meet up with me to some of the missions?
That sounds like a great endeavor. The picture above caught the aura or spirit I feel when around old missions which is unfortunately fairly rare. Very nice and good luck n your journey. Hope to see many more ..
I will need to buy a larger coffee table.(smiley face) but I would look forward to the book. You should do it in a way that seems right in your heart.
