An interview with LBJ
1) How long have you been into photography and what got you started?
I have enjoyed photography for many years but became interested long ago when I was a child and my parents bought me a Brownie Hawkeye camera.
2) Have you had any formal training and what kind of photography do you do most?
I have had minimal formal training but attend any workshop I can to improve my skills
3) What inspired you to take your winning shot?
I always enjoy photographing faces.
4) What equipment did you use and was there any special setup?
Since I was photographing a 5 year old who was very excited, I knew I had limited time to take the photo. I used the Nikon D600. I didn't originally plan to have the photo be a b&w but when I looked at it in post, it reminded me of a photo from the 50s and so I made it a black and white photo.
5) Would you change anything if you could do it again?
I would try for better lighting.
6) If you couldn't do photography what else would you do?
I am a rose gardener and would spend more time caring for the roses instead of photographing them.
7) Is there somewhere we can see more of your work?
I am currently working on a website but it isn't available yet.
