On my vacation this year I visited 5 national parks: Zion, Bryce, Arches, Monument Valley & the Grand Canyon. The scenery was breathtaking.

The Zion shot was tough to photograph. I had my 18-200mm lens on the D7000 and even at 18mm I couldn't get the third leg of that twisting river in the frame. Nobody wanted to hang onto my legs so I could hang over that cliff. LOL

The guy on the horse in the second picture really makes you realize just how big that place is. A beautiful picture and I love the 4th picture too. Great job. Be careful hanging over cliffs for a photo though. We lost a friend doint that.

The M/V shots are grand. No offense intended, but in that area of the world, it's hard to take a bad picture. Can't wait until I have the time and money to get out there. Last time I was in that neck of the woods, with time to snap shots, was 1964.

Ok! Now you have done it. I have got to see these national parks for myself.
Wonderful shots.

Actually, the area is difficult to shoot well because of the bright, direct sunlight. I was fortunate to have good clouds in the area to add contrast and overall appeal. Had I been stuck with a blank blue sky I may not have even taken a single frame.

For your info Jim I was part of a tour by Green Tortoise Tours - http://www.greentortoise.com/adventures/canyon.west.grand.zion.html . The total cost for 12 days was right around $1,000.

Where in Zion is that taken? I've spent a fair amount of time in the part and never saw this view? Is that the Virgin River?

I can grok that. I guess what I should have said was, "If you have as much talent as Bob does, there are lots of opportunities to take very nice pictures in that part of the world. That's why Ansel Adams shot in the Sierras and not south Jersey.. lol

I haven't a clue where that is. Remember this vacation was my first visit to any of the parks I mentioned. You might want to google images for Zion and see if that view pops up.
