Outdoor portrait first time... Colour then B&W C&C welcome
Just a sample of a shoot from yesterday trying to my first deliberate outdoor portrait shot.. I started with erring towards close up shots then backed off, when I've PP'd the stand back I'll post. I haven't cropped this yet and will be cropping predominately to the left of the photo
Set up and conditions
Yongnou YN 560-II speedlight with a collapsible 24 inch soft box on full power and just moved back and forward to adjust
F3.5
ISO 100
1/160th
Weather raining & cloudy
beautiful photo of a beautiful woman.
Color over B&W for me.

Ok, exceedingly nice woman, the photograph would be very good if it weren't for the metal bars coming from hear head, perhaps clone out
I am no portrait guy but I know a good one when I see one.A very beautiful subject I also know a good looking lady when I see one.The color for me also a fantastic shot well done.  :-D :-D

Jobox,
The color portrait is excellent. I think the black and white is lacking contrast and a little over exposed and not near as good as the color.
It is normally harder to get a good black and white photo since your dealing with shades of gray rather the the color spectrum.
Nice model.

Sorry about the posts JR1
We took shelter as it was raining and decided to pop a few shots in the shelter while we were waiting for the rain to stop.
I'll burn them in a slight touch.

The exposure is good as the skin tone and definition on the full image is tack sharp it does lose detail when uploading as I didn't reduce the size....I allowed the server to do that so have included the full image

Nice shots but I'd like the color one better.
Here are areas that need to be improved:
1.) The PP is a bit too heavy handed.. her eyes are too white, her teeth are too white and her skin is like plastic. It's not VERY overdone (in my opinion) but slightly.
Also her skin looks "patchy." You didn't PP all the way to her hairline and you can see the transition.
2.) Slouch....ramrod straight spines look good, slouching doesn't.
Other than those two things...nicely done.

Beautiful shot. Very nice. Personally, I would prefer that she was looking towards the camera.

Thanks Rpavich
tried to keep as close to original shot as possible so very light PP... It seems to go blotchy when you upload ...the full image is a lot smoother..
Slouch....That's why I am cropping just finding the right crop at the moment and totally agree with you on that one
