Toured Nova Scotia for 10 days in early August tracing my Acadian ancestry, celebrating my wife's 60th Birthday and enjoying magnificent scenic drives. We spent several days each in Annapolis Royal, Tatamagouche,Baddeck and Fall River. The weather was glorious, especially compared to southeast Texas hot, muggy summers. Had a chance to capture a few shots of Bald Eagles in Baddeck.

Nice sharp pictures.We have quite a population of bald eagles throughout Nova Scotia. You mentioned you had Acadien ancestry,may I be so bold as to ask what family name are you searching.

My lineage can be traced back to Etienne Hebert - Marie Gaudet, Francois Pellerin - Andree Martin, Francois Gautreau - Edmee Lejeune, Rene Rimbault - Anne Marie Matisse. When we visited Grand Pre and Port Royal it felt like we were finally home after a long journey.

Thanks for your positive feedback. We don't get many opportunities to see eagles in deep southeast Texas, so it was quite a thrill watching them fishing for their dinner.

Thanks for your uplifting comment. Gas was a little pricey, but well worth it to see such beautiful scenery and be able to walk the lands of my ancestors.

Excellent pictures! I just got back from the Halifax area. I had seen a lot of eagles but not close enough to capture. Only went for one week but will definitely go back hopefully to the Cape Breton side.
