The story around here is that Eucalyptus trees were transplanted into California for their fast growth during the Railroad building boom to be used for Railroad Ties...

The wood is terrible for that.. or for most anything structural...

We still have "gazillions" of these trees around here.

They do have a nice smell and because of that aroma are often used around groves to repel the bugs...

These trees from Australia are killing all vegetation in Corsica. They are monstrous and have a growth rate that is alarming. Next we bring in the Koala to control them right ! Then the 'Roos.....
