Seasons Greetings!
I dropped megabucks (for me) on a Wide Angle lens, to help shoot interiors of homes I list as a realtor. Most of my shots are distorted, kinda fisheye etc.. I like that the rooms look larger tho.
Anyway, My lens has two adjustable rings- the one closest to the body adjusts 10-20 MM; the other goes .8,1, 1.5, 3, (infinity symbol), ft. Anyone give me a clue as to best settings to capture rooms usually 20-35 feet deep effectively? As you guess I am sorta lost here!

No one else seems to want to touch this, so I'll take a stab at it.

First of all, your topic description says "102mm wide angle lens". I wouldn't consider a 102mm lens a "wide angle lens". Do you mean the lens is a 10-20mm lens? If so, then I will answer this way.

For room interiors, I suggest setting the lens to 10mm and focus it on infinity. The infinity setting should also work for the 20mm setting.

When I was working, I always used a film camera (35mm) and a 17mm lens for room interiors. I would focus at infinity and everything from <3 ft. to infinity would be in focus.

When shooting, try to keep the camera LEVEL. This will help keep the walls straight.

Bob - Camerahand gave excellent advise, I agree with everything...except:
KEEP THE CAMERA LEVEL should be all caps. Very important!
One more thing...have fun!

thanks for the tips...I will use those settings and a tripod- I find hand held and wide angle is NOT a good combination!
