I'm looking for an easy camera for my wife to use, basically a point and shoot camera that will be able to take good pictures in low light conditions like auditoriums for school kids awards, etc. I have tried several but nothing seems to do the job like my Canon T2i. However she refuses to use this. Claims it's too complicated. Does anyone have any experience with this Sony camera?

It's a good camera very easy to use good sized sensor you may have to get a zoom lens with it for auditoriums though as the lens that comes with it won't do.

I would think that is going to be just as hard to use...it's basically the same as a DSLR, just a lot smaller, but contains no mirror. It and the m4/3 cameras (olympus EPM2 and EPL5) when combined with a fast prime are great cameras.

I would think that she'd be better off with an LX-7 or Rx-100. Panasonic's iAuto mode can be set up to achieve minimum shutter speeds...something most DSLR's can't even do. Oh, did I mention the f1.4 lens...won't really need the flash...and yes it shoots raw.

For simply use try one of the bridge cameras like a Nikon P520 or A Canon SX50.With high ISO like 6400 you can shoot where the light is dim

ISO 6400 P510
ISO 6400 P510...

ISO 800 Canon SX50
ISO 800 Canon SX50...

My 2 c
She would love the Sony RX-100, it is small, large sensor, great IQ, takes great pics even on full auto. As she advances, she can use all the manual features, even manual focus on this p/s camera. Carl Zeis zoom lens.
