DVD Photo Software

I was using a software called Roxio NXT but since upgrading my computer to one with Windows 8 it just doesn't work. After almost 3 months I am tired of fighting with it and their supposed tech support (which is non existent). I am on the hunt for a replacement software and this is what I would like: I would like to be able to have multiple slideshows on the same DVD. I would like a nice menu screen with background music. I would like to have transitions between the photos in the slideshows and music. Any suggestions would be great! Thanks!

The latest version of Roxio should work. Perhaps give them a call and see about a resonable upgrade? If you want to change completely Nero is a popular software as well.

I have the latest version, Roxio NXT. :(
It crashes all the time, or freezes up. When I try and upload music it crashes 3x as often as it actually works. And then once I do finally finish a DVD 9 times out of 10 it either crashes or freezes during the burn process or it gives me black panels in place of photos. Plus I've had 2 appointments set up for remote help by their tech support and both times the person has not shown up or even bothered to send me a message to reschedule.

I had similar issues with Windows 7 Professional and removed SP1, I agree that since they were sold to Corel (NXT was during that process) that they are loosing ground support wise, but have not found a program that separates sound from videos and integrates, been using since Roxio 3 when they sent out 100+ page manual. I learn more about it's capabilities with every travel video (30+) just save often, dump "App Data" Roxio-Sonic temp files, reboot before a burn and reformat your computer annually. I removed NXT because it would not read down and went back to Roxio 13.

Folks are finding more and more programs that are not applicable to Windows 8.

I do video along with photo's
In order that I use them:
1. Avid - with MP4-265H. It needs a lot of Memory, gives a poor preview - but the Final burn is 100% great audio mixing and unlimited video tracks and audio. Makes blending and mixing almost studio quality.
2. Nero - Great on a small machine like a lap top. But the final burn seems to be lacking. I'll use this when on the move and need a DVD for someone who can't wait.
3. Windows makes a free version called Movie Maker, I tried it but didn't want to that the time to learn it.
The top two are my choices. Avid isn't cheap but well worth the extra. Nero is good bang for the buck. But to me you get what you pay for.
