Does anyone have any pros or cons about this printer. I have been looking to buy a new printer and the reviews for this one are very good. I think I can buy one on eBay for around $150. I am wanting a good printer to print some of my photos. Any suggestions? Thanks, Don!!

I've been using the previous model 9000 (not MKII) for about 3 years now, and would not trade it for anything. I love the quality of work it does, and the 8 ink tanks means that you don't throw out 2 or 3 colors just because one color ran out.
I've printed on gloss, matte, canvas, vinyl-adhesive, transparency, and even photo-transfer...all great! Seems like I paid about $500 or so.
At $150, I'd buy several!! I heard Canon was including them in a camera/printer package, and people are splitting the packages and selling them separately. Makes for a hella-deal!

Danilo, thanks for the quick reply. I was pretty sure that I would buy one. Just wanted some confirmation on how good the printer is.

I just ordered one from B&H Photo (with a $200 rebate) to replace my i9900 I've had for 8 years. Hope this one lasts as long!

Good qualiy printer ( 9000 Mk 1) the newest is somewhat better according to other forums. Cannot beat the price unless you get it for free as I got the earlier model when purchased with my 5D a few years ago.

I've worked with the i9900, the Pixma Pro 9000 and the Mark II and cannot recommend them highly enough. The color gamut is amazing, bright, luminous colors and no switching black inks when printing on matte or glossy papers.
The knock on dye inks is that they are not as archival, but Lyson, the British ink company says that is because the Wilhelm Labs idea that, to duplicate 100 years of print life, you subject a print to a month of intense light, is flawed. Pigment ink prints hold up better under this than dye ink prints, but in "normal" light they hold up very well. I've found this to be true.
Dye inks are also not as likely to clog. Order aftermarket ink and cartridges, Ink2Image, make prints and be happy.

I have the i9900 for more than two years and I'm constantly getting complements on the clarity and color fidelity on prints up to 13x19 size. I'm not entertaining any thoughts of trading up to the newer models. Geo.K.

I just had to buy one out of last minute desperation. It was between that and one of the Epson printers. I absolutely love it, but I do recommend that you try one and see for yourself.

I want to thank all that responded to my question about the Canon Pixma Pro 9000 Mark II printer. I have just purchased a new one on eBay for $106, which includes shipping. I think I got a super good deal. Thanks again, Bridgeman!!!

Hear, hear on all the complements. I've had the i9900, which has produced PSA and PFLI competition prints up to 13x19 on several types of paper for me for several years and I wouldn't consider upgrading! Geo.K.
